한국 찬송가 405장에 들어있는 '나같은 죄인 살리신' 은 미국의 남동부 지역에서 성가로 불리워지던 'Amazing Grace' 즉 '놀라우신 주의 은총' 이 원곡인데 작곡자는 알려져 있지 않으나 가사는 영국 출신의 목사 죤 뉴톤(J. Newton) 이 작시했으며, 1831년 미국에서 출판된 성가집에 처음 수록된 후부터 널리 불리워 지기 시작했고 근래에는 대중음악 가수들도 즐겨부르고 있어 따뜻한 감동을 느끼게 한다.
